4 Months Old

Grant turned 4 months on Tuesday and today had his 4 month well visit at the doctor.

New things he's been doing:
  • Rolling over tummy to back and back to tummy.  He doesn't do this all the time but we definitely can't leave him on the bed or couch anymore!
  • Loves being in the Ergo carrier (and sucking on the straps!)
  • Constantly sucking on his hands, toys, washcloths, but mostly his hands.  Thumb, fingers, fist - all of it.  One morning when I was changing his diaper and had his feet all the way up by his head, I heard a little sucking noise and he had got ahold of his toe.  He hasn't found his feet yet so this was a first. He loves his Sophie teether.
  • He's still sleeping in The Miracle Blanket swaddled up in the Pack N Play in our room.  We're going to try unswaddling him one arm at a time this weekend.
  • He's wearing 3-6 month or 6 month clothes and a Size 2 diaper.
  • He still is a talker and makes the cutest little squeals.  He's started laughing recently which is just so adorable.  Usually when we blow raspberries on his belly, give him Eskimo kisses or "eat" his feet.
  • Aunt Tania got him a little play mat that has a piano at the bottom for him to kick with his feet.  He loves this thing and kicks up a storm!
  • He's now been to the pool three times and seems to like it.  Nervous Mommy is anxious about learning to swim so hopefully he'll grow up comfortable (and confident) in the water.
Four month stats
Weight: 16 pounds, 1.6 ounces (63%)
Height: 25.5 inches (63%)
Head Circumference: 17.32 inches (97%)

Today also is Chris' last day of school so as of Monday, he'll be a stay at home dad for the summer!  He's planning to take Grant fishing, shopping @ Bass Pro Shop, spending time (in the shade) at the pool, watching ridiculous movies and tv shows (Swamp People!) and hopefully visiting me for lunch. Aunt Tania did such a great job watching Grant the past six weeks. She is a wonderful babysitter and a great Aunt to Grant :). Thank you, Tania!

We're also planning to go watch Chris play volleyball and softball this summer before it gets too hot out.
