Original Name: Moses
Where Did He Come From: Catahoula Rescue: Austin, TX (I think we found him via Petfinder.com)
His Story: Moses and his brother Zeke were rescued by a nice family who foster Dauchunds for an Austin Doxie Rescue. The husband heard puppy cries one evening after a rain storm. He walked down to a creek by his house and saw a mama dog on one side of the creek and two pups on the other side. When he approached, the mom got spooked and ran away. The man left, hoping the mama dog would come back for her pups, but she didn't. So he later went down and rescued the two puppies. Since they were a foster family for Doxies, they agreed to foster the two for Cataloula Rescue. Moses was all black and grey and his brother was tan. Might have been a case of two dads in the same litter! Moses was named by the foster family after the biblical story of Baby Moses in a basket being rescued from the Nile River. We liked the name so we never changed it.
Favorite Activities: Standing in between your legs and getting his backside scratched, being my sous chef (or more like waiting in the kitchen for food!), peeing on mailboxes (and occasionally Pepper's head if she's trying to smell the same mailbox), shedding, chasing rabbits and squirrels, barking and guarding the house.
Moses is a really great dog. He was never destructive as a puppy and does very well off the leash. He pretty much ignores Grant. Just in the past two weeks Grant has been noticing the dogs more and I know they will be friends as soon as Grant starts eating real food!
