Grant is seven months old and sweet as ever. Here are the latest updates!
- Officially sleeping in his crib overnight and for naps. He was previously in a pack n play in our room until right at 6 months. It's going very well! We're all getting more sleep. It's pretty funny to see him on the baby monitor. He moves ALL over the crib until he gets comfortable. There's a couple spots in the crib where the camera doesn't reach so it's sometimes crazy to look at the monitor and not see a baby!
- Started daycare last Monday. This was (and still is) very hard on me but Grant is doing better and better each day. Started out a little rough, but we're all getting settled into a routine. He's with his friend, Brayden and Chris gets to pick him up and spend some time with him before I get home from work.
- Eating "solid" foods. But not really solids... purees! I read up on Baby Led Weaning and like the ideas, but ultimately decided to start with purees. We've also given Grant a couple sticks of food for him to play with and taste. We're taking it slow with foods since it's all just practice for now.
- So far he's had oatmeal, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, pears as well as watermelon and cucumber sticks.
- No official weight/height this month, but I feel like he's getting long and lean. He's not crawling yet so I thought I had more time with the baby chub!
- Still sucking on his two left fingers. Never really liked the pacifier, now if I give him one, he just wants to turn it sideways and chew on it.
- Speaking of chewing - no teeth but continues to chew and drool on everything.
- Sitting up pretty well on his own, but still topples over. Can't sit himself up or anything, but can sit there when we prop him up.
- Not crawling, but can roll and scoot to make his way around the room. Diaper changes are becoming a struggle and he wants to roll off his changing table. I have a feeling we'll be doing more changes on the floor very soon.
Tomorrow will be Grant's first plane ride to visit my family in New Mexico! I can't wait to introduce him to his Great Grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins. My #2 most favorite thing about Albuquerque after family - CHILE!!! I can't wait to get my fix.
